IntoMeSea Healing Studio: Santa Monica

As we move into the third year of the Covid-19 global pandemic, we’re feeling the effects more than ever. We’ve been juggling work, childcare, homeschooling, and worrying about our children’s mental health and lost education. The bottom line is we are not OK. We need to heal. We need a place to heal… and I have just the place for you. IntoMeSea (pronounced like ‘intimacy’) is a state of the art healing studio in Santa Monica specializing in treatments that heal, destress, revive, and reconnect you with Energy.

IntoMeSea’s therapies are designed to balance, heal and support your mind, body and soul using unique combinations of light, water, breath, sweat, and energy. Their treatments and classes offer balance and healing to the whole body, gently removing the layers of external stimulation coaxing you to relax your mind, calm your senses, and care for your soul.

I had the opportunity to spend an afternoon in this healing studio, and I’m not exaggerating when I tell you it was magical. After removing my shoes at the door of this special sanctuary and slipping into my robe, I spent the next few hours nurturing my mind, body, and soul.

Salt – State-of-the-art, True S.A.L.T. Chamber – IntoMeSea

Dry Salt Therapy (Halotherapy) is the perfect way to cleanse and detox the lungs from bacteria, airborne disease (I’m looking at YOU covid), allergens and pollutants.

As I sat in the soothing chamber, this 15 minute treatment felt strange at first as I began to inhale tiny salt particles deep into my airways and lungs. However it didn’t take long for me to get the hang of it as I breathed deeper into the treatment, feeling my lungs, throat and skin begin to open up and heal. After the treatment I felt refreshed, detoxified, and moisturized from the inside out. My skin honestly felt like butter and silk.

Sweat – Infrared Sauna

The Infrared Sauna is a deeply healing treatment that detoxifies your body inside and out and helps decrease swelling, pain and inflammation. The infrared sauna is equipped with infrared heaters that penetrate human tissue versus simply heating the surface of the skin. As I settled into my 45 minute treatment, the powerful heat of the infrared lights enveloped my body, I felt my blood circulating, and immediately I felt muscle and joint pain relief as I settled into my treatment.

Benefits of the infrared sauna include: decreased blood pressure, increased blood circulation, increased nutrient delivery, decreased swelling, inflammation and pain, and increased muscle flexibility.

Float – Flotation Meditation – IntoMeSea

Flotation Meditation removes all stimulation from our busy world. This one hour treatment in a body temperature galactic bath chamber filled with regenerative and healing epsom salt, is a natural tool to balance your mind and your soul. After showering in my wet steam chamber filled with aromatherapy, I stepped into my float chamber, closed the door and relaxed into the warm water. As I floated effortlessly, the starlight ceiling lit up, coupled with soothing music, indicating that my float had officially began.

I savored the quiet darkness, and slowly drifted away feeling the Theta waves calmly massaging my body. This treatment is extremely regenerative and among other things it calms the nervous system, elevates your mood, decreases stress and counteracts the effects of aging.

Once the ceiling lights turned back on indicating my float was finished, I returned to my steam chamber to rinse off.

Float suites are calibrated to ensure that internal and external sensory signals are minimized and the floater can realize a deep state of tranquility, relaxation, happiness and peace.

Cerebral SoundBath Class

The Labryinth is a gorgeous studio where IntoMeSea hosts all classes and events. With a hand-painted Labryinth on the floor to facilitate walking meditation, the studio is calming and tranquil.

I lay in a reclining position as Telin, the instructor, began the Cerebral SoundBath Class using healing instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, percussion, chimes, rattles, and tuning forks. As I bathed in sound waves the soothing, overlapping vibrations led me into a state of deep meditation and complete relaxation. Full disclosure, it took awhile for my brain to release and actually let go of my thoughts (I’m my own worst enemy), but when I did, my body began to vibrate melting my stress and anxiety completely melt away. Telin studied sound healing in Bali and believes sound helps not only wash away what no longer serves us, but helps us access more fully our Shining Spirit.

IntoMeSea left me feeling calm, refreshed, peaceful, cleansed and recharged. The knowledgeable staff  guided me through each treatment and looked after me to ensure I achieved my highest level of relaxation and happiness.

All therapies and services offered are by appointment and booked on their website. Pricing for treatments begin as low as $33 with packages and membership available. IntoMeSea is located in the heart of Santa Monica at 1812 Lincoln Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA 90404. The studio is open every day except Tuesdays for deep cleaning.

Health and well-being should always be a priority to improve mental health and reduce stress and anxiety. If you are looking for a peaceful sanctuary to heal and nurture yourself, I’d highly recommend you visit IntoMeSea – your mind & body will thank you.
