9 Best Travel Essentials 2022

Travel is BACK after Covid-19 brought travel to a standstill for two years. The pent-up wanderlust is real with people realizing YOLO and that life can change in an instant. It’s also no secret that travel has changed significantly since BC (Before Covid!) Once you’ve decided where your next dream vacation will be, it’s important that you gather your best travel essentials to help things run as smoothly as possible.

Here are 9 best travel essentials I never leave home without.

1. Mer-Sea Classic Wrap

One of my non-negotiable travel items is a travel wrap. It’s so multi-functional and I use mine as a travel blanket and a shawl to fight the vigorous air conditioning on planes. I even use mine as an extra pillow for long-haul international flights. It’s perfect for the ‘in-between season’ travel when you don’t want to pack a heavy jacket, yet you still need something for the late night chill.

My Mer Sea Classic Wrap comes in sooo many colors, and the weight of the fabric is perfect for the finicky plane temperatures. It has a luxurious feel with a beautiful V that drapes beautifully, and there are endless ways to wear it. The wrap comes in a travel bag made from the same fabric which is perfect to use as an extra soft pillow for my International flights.

2. Valid Passport and Visas

Don’t be caught out with an expired passport, or a passport that is valid for less than 6 months. It can feel overwhelming to apply for or renew passports for the family, and if visas are involved – forget it!

I’ve used various third party services in the past, and ItsEasy.com is my service of choice. They are professional, knowledgeable and experienced with all different cases. The communication is top-notch and detail oriented, and the pricing is reasonable.

3. AirPods Pro

It’s critical to bring comfortable headphones on your travels to keep you entertained, AND help you zone out on flights. Especially if you want to mask those unwelcome noises from your seat mates.  travel essentials 2022

These Airpods Pro have you covered with their Active Noise Cancellation and customizable fit.

4. AirFly Wireless Headphone Adapter

AirFly Pro is a gamechanger when flying with your family. This wireless headphone adapter allows you to use your wireless headphones in places that only have a headphone jack… like airplanes.

And the best part is you can connect TWO pair of headphones, allowing you to watch a movie with your family members. It’s easily charged using the micro USB cable and has up to 16 hours of battery life.

5. TAG Protective Bag Covers

TAG Your BAG is the Perfect Mother's Day 2022 gift

TAG protective bag covers create the ultimate protection for your bags. Perfect for sticky airport benches, public bathroom stalls (that inevitably have a missing hook!) and of course the unthinkable under the airline seat dirty floors. Don’t give germs a ride to your final destination. TAG protective bag covers are one of your best travel essentials without the worry!

6. Erin Condren Packing Cubes

Packing Cubes are a perfect hack to compartmentalize and organize your best travel essentials to avoid arriving at your destination with wrinkled clothes.

My Erin Condren packing cubes  allow me to give each item its own convenient place, AND they are chic and durable.

7. Mer-Sea Patio Dress

I LIVE in flowy summer dresses when I travel. They are easy to throw on with some wedges and a belt and wear in the evening, OR throw on flip flops and wear to the pool.

This Mer-Sea classic Patio Dress is light and airy, 100% cotton, with a flattering cut to compliment every shape and size with perfect draping.  The dress is so versatile and flows beautifully across the body. The Olive color is incredibly functional for travel, and did I mention the pockets? There’s hidden pockets to slip in your ID or phone! It rolls perfectly in my travel cubes, so I can just give it a shake and go when I arrive at my destination!

8. Replenix Hydrating Anti-Oxidant Sunscreen SPF 50

Sunscreen helps protect skin from aging and from developing skin cancer, and it’s important to protect  skin on your travels as you may venture into warmer climates.

REPLENIX Hydrating Antioxidant Sunscreen SPF 50+ is a medical grade sunscreen that feels luxurious and healing as it goes on. It does have a slight tint to it, but it’s easy to rub into your skin, and I don’t mind that since I can literally feel the protective barrier.

9. JO Malone Red Roses Travel Candle

Let’s face it, when you travel, it is not your own space, and sometimes there are funky smells (and noises) to deal with.
