Celebrate the Holidays with the Pacific Chorale Concert at Segerstrom Concert Hall

The holiday season is a time for creating moments that matter, and I shared a festive evening with family enjoying the Descanso’s delicious Plancha Dining experience, and the heartwarming ‘Tis the Season’ Pacific Chorale Concert at the Segerstrom Concert Hall.

Descanso’s Plancha Dining: Up Close and Personal

Descanso restaurant in Costa Mesa offers a unique blend of Mexican flavors with a modern twist, but my favorite part by far is The Plancha dining table. Descano took the dining game up a notch as our skilled chef prepared our meal “A La Plancha” right before our eyes on the sizzling grill. The Multi-Course Meal consists of street tacos of your choice served with soup or salad and Mexican fried rice.

For me the star of the show was the fresh salmon street tacos. Accompanying our tacos was a generous serving of delish summer vegetables, cherry tomatoes, sweet peppers and chile con limon perfectly complemented the smoky richness of the salmon.

Their cocktail menu is filled with fresh and interesting options and we indulged in a fresh Watermelonrita featuring El Jimador Tequila, Watermelon Water, Agave, and Lime –  a refreshing and festive sip!

A Symphony of Sounds: ‘Tis the Season’ Pacific Chorale Concert at Segerstrom Concert Hall

After our delicious meal, we headed to the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall for a heartwarming evening of festive music. The Pacific Chorale presented “Tis the Season!”, a family-friendly program that has become one of Orange County’s beloved holiday traditions.

Under the lead of Grammy Award-winning Artistic Director Robert Istad, the chorus delivered all of our favorite cherished carols with fresh and beautiful arrangements. The hall was filled with the pure voices of the Southern California Children’s Chorus, members of the Pacific Symphony, and, of course, the Man in Red himself made a special guest appearance!

As we listened to the familiar tunes, surrounded by the warmth of the holiday spirit, we couldn’t help but feel moved. The performance gave us all the feels; love, joy, and a deep sense of gratitude. The soloists were incredible and sang haunting renditions of Donnie Hathaway’s ‘This Christmas’ and Gloria Shayne’s ‘Do You Hear What I Hear?’

The lovely evening of Descanso’s Plancha Dining experience and the festive sounds of the Pacific Chorale at the Segerstrom Concert Hall had left cherished memories in our hearts. If you have the opportunity to see a Pacific Chorale Concert, I’d highly recommend it. It’s difficult to not feel changed by the artistic beauty and pure talent… and the world could sure use some joy right now.
