Our Stay at The Knoll Hotel in Napa Valley

The Knoll Hotel Napa Valley California isn’t just another hotel in wine country. It gives you a “Welcome to Napa, you’re going to love it here!” vibe. The Knoll Hotel is part of the Tapestry by Hilton collection and opened its doors in March 2024. It’s conveniently located off SR 121, just a mile from the heart of Napa Valley and we had a lovely stay. It’s in an ideal spot to explore all Napa has to offer, from attractions like the Napa Valley Wine Train and the Oxbow Market just 1.2 miles away. And of course you’re in the heart of wine country so there are endless wineries to visit. The Knoll’s modern amenities and prime location gives you a perfect base when visiting Napa.

The Knoll Hotel, Napa Valley Review

Pulling up to The Knoll Hotel, we immediately felt we were in wine country heaven. Since it’s brand new, the property looks fresh, clean and inviting and the gorgeous lobby with a cozy fireplace felt like the perfect place to unwind after a long drive. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and the streaming TV and large desk gave us plenty of entertainment and workspace options to enjoy during our stay. The hotel also has a fairly large fitness center on the first floor, a hot tub, and EV charging for eco-friendly travelers.

Dining at Rootstock Kitchen & Tap in The Knoll Hotel Napa Valley

Let’s talk about the food  – the on-site restaurant, Rootstock Kitchen & Tap, is all about NorCal vibes and coastal influences. The dishes are simple and focus on fresh, local ingredients, and it’s clear every dish is made with love. Our mushroom flatbread pizza with feta was a great pre-dinner snack, and we enjoyed it on one of the many cozy sofas scattered around the lounge. There’s a great selection of cocktails, and happy hour is offered every day from 2-6pm. Whether you need breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Rootstock Kitchen & Tap is on-hand to complement your stay.

Best Things to do in Napa Valley

Staying at The Knoll Hotel Napa Valley means you’re never far from other Napa experiences. Here are my five best things to do in Napa:

1. Visit Napa Yard Beer Garden

The Napa Yard Beer Garden is in the heart of downtown Napa and is a great spot to eat before a day of wine tasting. With its casual and relaxed vibe, it sets the perfect tone for your stay. Napa Yard features seasonal food and drinks using local ingredients. This is an absolute delight, with lovely fairy lights that illuminate the many outdoor spaces, creating a magical atmosphere.

They have an extensive menu, and use organic ingredients straight from their on-site gardens. The shrimp market salad was perfection, and sitting in one of their outdoor spaces overlooking the river while sipping on an after-dinner gin martini felt like a slice of heaven.

They also offer a great selection of craft beers and fun cocktails, often sourced locally too. From refreshing lagers to rich IPAs and stouts, each beer highlights Northern California’s brewing traditions alongside the local wine culture.

2. Visit Artesa Winery

We visited Artesa Winery in Napa Valley, a modern winery on a hilltop with stunning 360-degree views of the valley.
